The guest star of the season-opening concert traditionally held on the evening before the anniversary of Béla Bartók's death will be arriving from Paris. It might not be obvious but Hungarian and Turkish music history and folk music have a lot in common. This concert presents two excellent Turkish musicians and introduces Turkish music to the audiences. Composed by Ahmed Adnan Saygun, the ‘Bartók of Turkey’ in 1975, Ritual Dance melts elements of Western music and Turkish authentic folk music in a unique way.
