Emre Elivar & Işin Metin Concert With The Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra

Camille Saint-Saëns, who was one of the outstanding figure of the 19th century French music life composed his last piano concerto during a winter holiday in Luxor, Egypt in 1896. This piece is especially interesting because amalgamates non-European music. The second half of the concert will feature a popular Romantic symphonic work under the baton of Işin Metin, the renowned Turkish conductor. In this piece the German composer, Schumann immortalised his experiences and impressions of his travels with his wife, Clara in the Rhine Valley.
PIANIST EMRE ELIVAR was born in 1976. The DAAD scholarship made his further education and specialization possible at music academies “Carl Maria von Weber” Dresden and “Hanns Eisler“ Berlin, where he obtained his master degree and the title “Konzertpianist”. Today he lives and works in Berlin. His repertoir consists of pieces of high mental and technical standards. Not accidently one of the biggest recording company pounced on him. Elivar is a musician he continuously thinks, interrogates and searches for the better and deeper in his music making.
CONDUCTOR IŞIN METIN is the artistic director of the Bilkent Symphony Orchestra which cherishes the memory of Saygun. Işın Metin graduated from the Bilkent University in Ankara Faculty of Music and Performing Arts where studied composition and conducting.
Since 1996 he worked with prominent ensembles and orchestras in his native country and around the world. In 2002 he collaborated with the city of Eskişehir, as artistic advisor and conductor to help found the most recent young symphonic ensemble in Turkey. In addition to conducting concerts and recordings with the Bilkent Symphony Orchestra and abroad, Metin is also noted for his compositions. In 2009 the UNICEF in Turkey appointed the Bilkent Symphony Orchestra and conductor Işın Metin to UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors.
