According to Hungarian investigative journalism portal Átlátszó.hu, the 2017 FINA World Championships to be hosted in Budapest in 2017 will cost Hungarian taxpayers at least HUF 90 billion (USD 323 million), of which HUF 52 billion (USD 192 million) is to be spent this year alone.
Test Track For Selfdriving Cars To Be Built In W Hungary

The government plans to build a test track for, primarily, driverless cars, in Zalaegerszeg, in western Hungary, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán announced on Thursday. Speaking at the “Cars of the Future” conference at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Orbán called the test track a major investment, “the like of which cannot be found” within 500 kilometres of Hungary.

Not all expats know about the opportunity to enjoy a day or two at the races most weekends, as Kincsem Park hosts harness racing on the Saturday and flat racing on the Sunday.

Tens of thousands of people lined the Budapest banks of the Danube to watch the car, motor sport and air show called Nagy Futam (Great Race) in downtown Budapest last Sunday. As part of the show, three planes twice flew under the Chain Bridge simultaneously. The stunt was spectacular but nearly ended badly, because on both occasions one of the planes flew too low and bounced off the Danube.
