The Minister of Human Resources and state secretaries participated in the Budapest Marathon relay race. Every member of the group completed the run partnering a runner living with disabilities (people with impaired vision or physical disabilities). The number of participants was 19,200, compared to the previous record of 17,700.

On 13 August Chargé d’Affairs Theresa Bubbear co-opened the Olympic exhibition of the Hungarian Jewish Museum. In the year of the London Olympic Games, the exhibition honours the achievements of both known and less known former Hungarian Jewish Olympic champions. In her speech Mrs Bubbear congratulated for the achievements of the former champions, the relatives of many took part in the opening.

Tax officials disguised as football fans carried out raids during the European Championship football tournament last month. The most frequent tax abuses were recorded in the Fourth, Eight and Thirteenth districts.
