Domestic Used Car Sales Could Rise 13% In 2016

Sales of domestic used cars in Hungary could rise by an annual 13% to 615,000 in 2016, data compiled by used car portal Hasznaltauto.hu show. Sales of imported used cars could be up by 16% at 143,000. Használtautó said that the share of imported vehicles among used cars has been steadily rising from 12% in 2012 to 16% in 2014 and to 19% in 2016.

Retail sales in Hungary climbed 2.6 percent in October from the same month a year earlier, preliminary data released by the Central Statistical Office (KSH) on Monday show. Retail sales rose by an annual 2.6 percent when adjusted for calendar year effects.
OECD Lowers 2017 GDP Growth Forecast To 2.5 Pc

The OECD lowered its projection for Hungary’s GDP growth next year to 2.5 percent in volume terms in a forecast published on Monday from the 3.1 percent in the previous Economic Outlook released in June 2016. The OECD however improved its 1.6 percent summer projection for Hungary’s growth this year to 1.7 percent in the autumn edition of the World Economic Outlook.

In the first three quarters of 2016, 68,802 children were born, 0.2% less than in the same period last year. The number of deaths was 92,437, which meant a decrease of 7.6% compared to January–September 2015. The natural decrease was 23,635 persons, 7,525 lower than a year earlier.

Average gross wages in Hungary rose by an annual 6.7% in September to 257,857 forints (EUR 834), the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported. Net wages grew by 8.3% to 171,475 forints due to a one percentage point cut in the personal income tax rate from January.
