Bulgaria Air Now Connects Budapest & Sofia

Having already exceeding four million passengers in 2016, Budapest Airport is showing early signs of surpassing latest forecasts predicting 11.1 million passengers by year-end. Continuing to expand its solid route network, the Hungarian gateway has welcomed its latest new airline partner, celebrating the inaugural flight of Bulgaria Air’s four times weekly connection to Sofia.

The number of passengers travelling through Budapest’s international airport topped 1 million in May, the highest ever for that month, it was announced yesterday. Traffic was up 13.4% to 1.016 million passengers last month and was 12% higher at 4.17 million for the first five months.
Hungary, South Korea To Set Up Direct Flights

Hungary and South Korea have agreed to launch direct flights between their capital cities this summer. Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó told a press conference that over the first phase of cooperation, Asiana Airlines, South Korea’s second biggest carrier, will operate one flight a week between Budapest and Seoul from the beginning of July to the end of August.

Budapest city asset manager BFVK will invite bids for the rental of commercial spaces in stations along the fourth metro line, which are currently empty, Népszabadság reports. The BFVK collected Ft 29.2 million in rent in 2014, when the line was opened, rising to Ft 46.8 million in 2015.
