Sziget, the week-long festival in the middle of Budapest, has a colorful and exciting program variety that is now considered ready. The more than 1500 programs taking place non-stop on the island can now be checked on the festival website. Less than 5% of the Sziget passes are available at the moment and with the current sales dynamic they will most probably sell out by the end of June.

United States Ambassador to Hungary Colleen Bell has voiced her support for the Hungarian national team at the 2016 UEFA European Championship in a video uploaded yesterday to the embassy’s Facebook page. The footage of Ms. Bell clad in Hungarian colours was recorded at the statue of the late world-famous Hungarian footballer Ferenc Puskás in Budapest’s District III.

Hungarians Spend One In HUF 25 Online

After several years of dynamic growth, Hungary’s online retail trade volume continued to rise in 2015. Surpassing the psychological limit of HUF 300 billion (~EUR 963 million) for the first time, the net turnover reached HUF 319 billion (~ EUR 1024 million). The number of passengers travelling through Budapest’s international airport topped 1 million in May, the highest ever for that month, it was announced yesterday. Traffic was up 13.4% to 1.016 million passengers last month and was 12% higher at 4.17 million for the first five months.

The number of Hungarian fixed broadband subscribers with average online connection speeds of at least 30 Mbs reached 61% in April, up from 53% in the same month a year earlier, Hungarian national media regulator NMHH said in its updated statistical report on national broadband use published yesterday.
