Was on display until 29 May. Tamás Olescher (1954-2021), Munkácsy Prize-winning painter, set designer and performer was a well-known figure and one of the organisers of the Hungarian underground art scene in the 1970s, until he moved to West Germany in the 1980s.

The medieval synagogue in the Buda Castle’s Táncsics Street was reconsecrated on Thursday. President János Áder, members of the diplomatic corps and representatives of other religions attended the event.

Parallel Diversities between East and West, links the emblematic oriental metropolis of Shanghai with the Sanghay Bar in Budapest, a perfect encapsulation of the contradictory image of the East that prevailed in Hungary between the wars.
