1. What’s been happening at work and at home since your first Xpat Interview?
I left my museum-mania life in Budapest, retired and moved to beautiful Kapolcs Village in the Arts Valley in Northern Balaton. Was initially busy renovating and restoring an old ruin on a vineyard estate. Sometimes questioning my sanity, wearing wellies and knee deep in compost!

Michael Patkai is the founder and director of Tower International Kft. After completing his studies at Kodolányi College in Székesfehérvár, Michael taught English at various language schools and worked as a professional translator. From 1998, Michael worked for a British and then an Israeli Real Estate Firm, selling properties to international investors in Budapest.

I was born in London and grew up outside New York. I am the youngest of 6 children. I went to Connecticut College and studied International Politics, but I loved working construction in the summers and knew that it was my passion.
