Photo Report: Huge Hooters Launch In Budapest

Around 250 guests, including notable local celebrities from television, film, and media, attended the "VIP" opening event on August 25th. The event was covered by Hungarian National TV and press. The restaurant opened to the public this Monday, August 27th, with 56 of the ‘world famous’ Hooters Girls in attendance to welcome and serve customers.

Construction is complete on the 7800 square foot unit, spread over three levels, in downtown Budapest. Alex Hemingway, CEO of Crown Restaurants and boss of the brand in Hungary and other parts of Europe, stated, "We are confident the unique Hooters experience will be a success in Budapest".

By Treehugger Dan: I wish I could recommend some great pizza in Budapest, but I have yet to encounter one. Il Treno used to have a good garlicy sauce on theirs, as did Via Luna, but it has been many years since I have been to either of these restaurants. New York Pizza's pizza is also good (everything else on their menu I have tried is great, especially their lunch menu). Any suggestions?

By Andi Lustak: The non-smoking ban in Hungary finally came into effect in January in all restaurants and bars and it has already made a huge difference with most establishments complying with the law. From April restaurants who don’t comply can get fined up to 1 million HUF. This is great and gave me the chance to move away from just focusing on finding the best non-smoking places and instead ...
