Budapest has secured a high-ranking spot on a new list of top destinations, though this time the recognition focuses on its practicality rather than its famous landmarks. A recent study evaluating the best European cities for digital nomads placed the Hungarian capital in third place overall.

The Életmentő app (which literally means “life-saving” in Hungarian) was developed by the Hungarian National Ambulance Service together with Vodafone Hungary. It lets you request help from emergency services directly through your phone, and sends them your real-time location. No need to know the nearest cross street. No need to panic about explaining “we’re just past the bend with the plum tree.”
