An Afghan-Iranian family with three children waited eight months at the Serbian-Hungarian border to be able to apply for refugee status. After the long wait, in April 2017 they were admitted to the so-called ’transit zone’ where they were practically locked up behind barbed wire for four months.

Syrian In Border Riot Sentenced To 10 Years

A Syrian man was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for his role in a migrant riot at the Röszke border crossing station last autumn. In its primary ruling passed on Wednesday, the Szeged court said that the man was guilty of terrorist activities involving illegal border crossing as well as coercion and violence, committed as a participant in the riot.
Justice Minister Discusses Migration In Beirut

The Hungarian justice minister discussed migration related issues during his official visit to Beirut, his ministry said. László Trócsányi met his Lebanese counterpart, Ashraf al-Rifi, who invited him for the visit, and briefed him on topical issues related to migration and the migrant policy of Hungary and the European Union.

A Budapest court ruled for the pre-trial detention and transfer to French authorities of ten out of the 12 Hungarian nationals suspected of trafficking Hungarian women to work as prostitutes in France. The French authorities put out a European arrest warrant for the 12 men who were taken into custody in Hungary on Monday in a raid coordinated with Hungarian police, the court said in a statement.
