Hungarian chief executives are confident about their company’s growth prospects over the next 12 months, but are less optimistic about Hungarian and global economic growth, consulting company PwC said, based on a survey it conducted in the fourth quarter last year.

Budapest and Warsaw are in agreement that central Europe can become the engine of European growth, Péter Szijjártó, Hungary’s minister of foreign affairs and trade, said after meeting his Polish counterpart Witold Waszczykowski. He said they had both agreed that Visegrad Group cooperation should be intensified, given changes taking place around the world, such as in US foreign policy and Brexit.

Some 84% of the 155 Hungarian company leaders interviewed for PwC’s annual CEO survey said they are confident about their own firmʼs revenue growth in 2016, while 59% expect the Hungarian economy to grow, and 54% foresee the growth of the global economy this year, according to an analysis of the survey published by PwC today.
