Attila Ambrus, the man who gained fame as the “Whisky Robber” in the 1990s, was released from prison this Tuesday. Ambrus stole a total of Ft 196 million from 28 banks, post offices and travel agencies from January 23, 1993 and October 18, 1999 after moving from Transylvania to Hungary.

"HMA Greg Dorey opened the first whisky show in Hungary which took place on 24 April in Ramada Plaza Budapest Hotel. The event attracted some 400 visitors who had the opportunity to taste a wide variety of single malt and blended whiskies and attend several seminars. Those who turned up at the show could also vote to the best whisky brand and exhibitor stand.

"Starting at 11am, until 10 pm, this Whiskey Show will include Scottish music, dance, and a cigar room. 25-35 people are able to attend each tasting session, which involves 3-5 whiskeys and lasts about an hour - with information in Hungarian and English too.
