Sziget Festival 2012: 380,000 Visitors, 50% Not From Hungary

The week-long Sziget Festival staged its closing events on Sunday.It attracted approximately 380 000 visitors in its 20th jubilee year, with 50 percent of these coming from outside Hungary. In addition to the numerous music events, the festival hosted a number of government organisations at its ‘Civil Village’.

The Hungarian mortality rate is almost 50% higher than the average of the most developed EU15 countries, according to a study included in the Central Statistics Office publication Demographic Portrait 2012. The death rate here is also higher than in those countries that joined the EU simultaneously or later than Hungary.
