Duck & Goose Products Vanish From Hungarian Shelves
There is a severe shortage of duck and goose products in stores due to the bird flu epidemic, as farmers have been forced to cull stocks, Magyar Idõk reports.

These products have disappeared from supermarket shelves, and experts say it will take months to make up for the shortfall.

Foie gras was selling for Ft 18,000-20,000 before Christmas, a three-fold increase from the usual price, the newspaper adds.

Farmers have killed 3 million poultry to contain the virus, and losses are nearing Ft 3 billion, according to Poultry Council head Attila Csabai.
