Budapest To Offer 5,000 Free Covid Tests
Budapest will offer free coronavirus tests to 5,000 residents, Gergely Karácsony, the city’s mayor, said.

Rapid Covid-19 antigen tests will be carried out in four locations across the city between Dec. 19 and 23, Karácsony said on Facebook, adding that the testing required pre-registration.

“We are aware that this number is not nearly enough for general testing,” the mayor said.

“But at the same time it provides an opportunity for the first 5,000 people over the age of 18 with a permanent Budapest address who register to find out before the holidays whether or not they are infected.”

Karácsony noted that the municipal council will soon begin testing public service workers, having already tested social institution and district local council employees.
