Tours Of Hungarian State Opera Start Again
Finally folks can again visit Budapest’s ornate Opera House, via a 30-minute guided tour of the amazing building. With renovations still ongoing certain areas are still closed, but you can admire the lovely lobby, beautiful halls and salons - all details below.

The English-language tours are all scheduled in the afternoon hours, with three tours each day starting at 2 pm, 3 pm & 4 pm. 

Each guided tour takes visitors through the Foyer, the Grand Staircase, the Feszty Bar, the Red Parlour,  the Royal Staircase, and the Bertalan Székely Parlour.

Ticket Info:

Tickets can be purchased either on-line or in person at least 20 minutes before the start of the tour, during opening hours (from 1 July, every day between 12 pm and 5 pm), with cash or bank cards either in the Opera Shop or at the booth set up for this purpose in the foyer of the Opera House.

Prices & Concessions:

Tours cost HUF 2,500 per person, which includes the services of the guide, the 27% VAT, photo opportunities and a brief production.

    - children under the age of 6 go free;
    - 50% off under the age of 14;
    - 20% off for students with international students' card over the age of 14;
    - 20% off for senior citizens over 65.

Concession tickets can be purchased at the Opera House in person, eligibility must be confirmed with a valid photo ID. Concessions cannot be combined with other discounts.

Important Notes:

Due to the reconstruction of the Opera House the lifts are not accessible.

In order to protect the health of visitors and employees the Opera House provides amenities for washing and disinfecting hands, and ask visitors to wear face masks.
