Homolya said the railway company will receive HUF 20 billion in funds for the renovation of the Vecsés-Üllő-Monor section of the Budapest-Cegléd line, and the government will provide the railway company with about HUF 2 bln for EU-funded passenger traffic investments at Nyugati (pictured on top) and Keleti.

Homolya added that the Budapest-Cegléd section was used by more than 40,000 people a day before the first coronavirus shutdown was announced, and is one of the busiest railway lines in the country.
