Free Parking Ends Soon
The cabinet plans to abolish free parking in city centres when the number of people vaccinated exceeds five million, Világgazdaság reports.

The government mandated free parking in public areas in November.

Free parking was first introduced in April of last year, during the first wave of the epidemic, and was available until July.

The government said at the time that free parking was one of the most important means of protection, as maintaining social distance on public transport vehicles was virtually impossible.

4,790,996 people had received at least the first dose of a vaccine by Wednesday this week, so the five million figure is fast approaching.

Ed: According to the latest figures it is most likely that from Tuesday 25 May the Covid related free parking rule will no longer be in force.
