A respiratory epidemic has assumed considerable proportions in Hungary, largely due to the coronavirus, according to Szabolcs Békássy, founder and president of the Online Organisation of Family Doctors.
Appointments can again be made to receive inoculations against the coronavirus, and three vaccination points have re-opened in Budapest.
Hungary has taken all necessary and possible measures since the coronavirus pandemic to be prepared for another potential health crisis and be able to protect people’s lives, Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said in Geneva.
Hungary on Wednesday received the first shipment of Pfizer/BioNTech’s new coronavirus vaccine which targets the original virus and its BA.1 Omicron variant, the head of the epidemiology department of the National Public Health Centre (NNK) said.
