Demand for Travel on the Rise in Hungary
Demand for travel is expected to exceed pre-crisis levels this year and in 2022, according to a representative survey conducted by booking site Szállas.hu and market researcher Nielsen IQ.

More people are planning to make trips abroad and at home this year and in 2022 than in 2019. Some 92% of respondents have travelled at least once this year and last, and 99% plan to do so in the post-pandemic period.

While just under 20% of respondents travelled abroad and in Hungary at least once this year, more than half plan to do so in 2022.

The majority of Hungarians choose neighbouring countries for travel, such as Croatia, Romania, the Czech Republic and Poland.

The pandemic has also changed travel habits, as the proportion of people who travel abroad by car has increased from 59% to 68%.
