Catering Turnover Up Over 30% in Hungary this May

Compared to the rising base due to the gradual post-Covid reopening a year ago, the volume of catering turnover increased by 34.3% in May after the 89.3% increase in April, while its sales revenue increased by 55.8%, according to profitline.hu.

The recovery of the hospitality sector may continue in the coming months, supported by the increasingly strong recovery of international tourism, which also supports GDP growth in the coming quarters.

Tourism growth also supports the balance of services and, through this, the improvement of the current account.

Due to the gradual lifting of the restrictive measures taken against the second and third waves of the pandemic a year ago, the growth rate will slow down in the coming months, but growth may still be maintained.
