On Saturday, far-right activists gathered to mark the anniversary of the attempt to break out of the Soviet siege of Budapest encircled by Russian troops.
The event was also attended by left-wing antifascist protesters. After the rally, a group of antifa activists including foreign individuals brutally attacked a person in Budapest.
Four of the perpetrators have already been arrested by the police. According to media reports, far-right gangs also attacked random Hungarians.
In Magyar Nemzet, László Szentesi Zöld is confident that the Hungarian authorities will do their job and defend Hungarians and maintain public order from left-wing extremism.
He contrasts Hungarian police to police in Germany where he claims far-left violence is tolerated by the police.
The pro-government commentator suspects that the antifa attacks were intended as a provocation.
Szentesi Zöld concludes by suggesting that while the Left constantly fears neo-Nazi violence, it was the “international and Hungarian left-wing” who actually attacked Hungarians in Budapest.
