New Data: Poverty Dropped Significantly in Hungary
Recent Eurostat data show that the rate of people at risk of poverty or social exclusion has dropped significantly, to 18.4% last year from 30.6% in 2015, an interior ministry official said on Thursday.

Attila Fülöp said that the rate of very low intensity or jobless households had also gone down last year, to 6.2% from 8.8% during the period.

The proportion of Hungarians experiencing severe material and social deprivation in the entire population dropped to 9.1% last year from 24.1% in 2015, Fülöp said in a Facebook post.
