Couples Seeking Fertility Treatments in Hungary Have Been 'Failed', Says DK
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has “failed” couples seeking fertility treatment, an MP of the opposition Democratic Coalition (DK) said at a press conference.

Judit Földi Rácz called out the government for voting against DK’s proposal for free in vitro fertilisation (IVF) procedures, after they “scrapped” a home purchase subsidies scheme for families with children along with prenatal baby credit.

The government has taken away the opportunity to have a family from “thousands” of Hungarians, she added. Since the government nationalised IVF clinics, the waiting list for procedures has “drastically” increased, she said.

While the current rules allow women to undergo five state-financed IVF procedures, DK would remove that limit until the birth of a first child, she added.
