New Photo Exhibition Promotes Adoption of Stray Dogs in Hungary
On display until 12 January 2025. An exhibition of photographs taken by photographer Nikolett Papp of ballet dancers of the Hungarian State Opera House and students of the National Ballet Institute, will open to encourage the adoption of “orphaned” dogs. The photographs are on display at the Hungarian State Opera House.

The exhibition celebrates the joint power of animal protection and art, the organizer Vigyél Haza Foundation (Take Me Home Foundation) said. They stressed that ballet dancers from the Hungarian State Opera House and students from the National Ballet Institute posed in front of the lens of photographer Nikolett Papp to encourage animal lovers to adopt dogs.

For 16 years, the foundation has been working with volunteers to help orphaned, injured, and elderly dogs and to increase their chances of adoption.

Not only do they help the most vulnerable animals, but they also look for solutions to national problems. Their free microchip scanning network, now available in 285 locations, returns thousands of missing dogs to their owners every year. Over the years, their campaigns to promote adoption and acceptance of mixed breeds and older dogs have won them numerous national and international creative awards, their statement said.

The foundation described photographer Nikolett Papp as “sensitive to the personalities of animals and their relationship with their owners through her images.” In recent years, she has revealed the stories of hundreds of dogs and their owners to the world.

The exhibition is open to the public free of charge at the Hungarian State Opera House from December 3 to January 12, daily from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and on performance days until the end of the first intermission, except on December 24.
