Last Major Summer Festival in Hungary Kicks-Off: Strand @ Zamárdi, 22 - 24 August
The annual Strand Festival has become one of the most important events in the Balaton region at the end of summer. Local stars of Hungarian concerts and clubs will share the stage again as the summer season at the 'Hungarian Sea' comes to a close with a bang.

Twenty-five venues there will host 200 concerts and festival programs, including circus shows, literary discussions, plus sustainability and education programs from this Thursday to Saturday.

This year local Azahriah, Bagossy Brothers Company, Majka, Dzsúdló, and Beton.Hofi will perform among others like Follow the Flow.

Internationally renowned artists like Alok, Elderbrook, and Chase & Status will also be there - see detailed program here.

In addition to the concert lineup, circus is also a significant attraction this year, not only on stage but also the audience can try themselves out in the world of circus artists.

This year the organisers have set important goals regarding reducing the festival’s eco footprint, they say. With the help of experts they are implementing a sustainability scheme, including  promoting cycling and public transport, and reducing the carbon footprint of catering, also they're aiming to reduce noise pollution.

Finally of note, Strand is held at one of the most beautiful festival venues in Hungary, on the water’s edge with a panoramic view of Tihany in the distance.
