Record Highway Vignettes Purchased in Hungary
According to the National Toll Payment Services, motorists in Hungary have purchased 1.4 million annual highway vignettes for the year, with 28% being national and 72% county-specific permits.

This accounts for only 40% of last year’s total annual vignette sales, indicating that many drivers have yet to renew.

NÚSz reminds drivers that last year’s vignettes expire on Jan. 31, urging timely renewal to avoid penalties. Historically, a significant number of drivers delay this purchase until the last days of January.

Additionally, Jan. 31 is the deadline for renewing exemptions and partial fee discounts for individuals with disabilities, who must submit applications to the transportation administration authority.

Large families’ discounts remain valid without annual renewal, provided they continue to meet eligibility criteria.
