Analysis: How Much Does an Average Used Car Cost in Hungary?

The average asking price for used cars on sale edged down to HUF 5.4m in June from HUF 5.2m the same month a year before, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) and listings site Hasznaltauto.hu said in a joint statistics release.
Some 40.2pc of used car advertisements published in Hungary were for passenger cars worth less than HUF 2.5m, 26.4pc were for cars worth between HUF 2.5m and HUF 5m, 20.5pc for cars worth between HUF 5m and HUF 10m and 12.9pc for cars worth more than HUF 10m.
According to online advertisements there were 53,910 petrol cars on offer, 45,420 diesel cars, 4,080 hybrids and 5,440 battery electric vehicles. Compared to June 2024, there were 5,650 fewer used vehicles available.
