This raises the number of legal online casinos in Hungary to four, along with grandcasino.hu, kaszino.hu (formerly vipcasino.hu) and vegas.hu.

The organiser of the new site xcasino.hu is LVC Diamond, which operates all five Budapest casinos and two other online platforms.

According to Forbes, its indirect owners are businessman István Garancsi and political strategist Árpád Habony.

Habony joined the firm three years ago, after the former minority owner, Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky, sold his stake when he was appointed defence minister, HVG adds.

Garancsi (59 years old) is one of the most powerful businessmen in Hungary.

He's the owner of Hungarian football club Videoton FC, the Mobil Adat company that markets the SIM card needed to make the obligatory connection between cash registers and Hungary’s National Tax and Customs Authority, the construction company Market Építő and the ESMA outdoor-advertising company, among other interests.

Garancsi reportedly became friends with Viktor Orbán as they sat in the VIP box watching Videoton FC matches at the club’s stadium in Székesfehérvár -  Garancsi purchased the club in 2007.

According to Wikipedia, Habony is an entrepreneur, oligarch and longtime advisor to Viktor Orbán.

Born on 1January 1968, he is credited as the unofficial architect of the "fake news, anti-immigration and negative propaganda campaign of Orbán's party, Fidesz".

Habony and the late Arthur J. Finkelstein were shareholders in "Danube Business Consulting Ltd."
