Nagy said consumer protection was not just a strategic tool for enforcing the security of Hungarian households, but a guarantee for honest companies of a stable and transparent environment for doing business.
Bence Gerlaki, the ministry's state secretary for consumer protection, told the conference that a new consumer protection action plan put a focus on ensuring the protection of children, ensuring their physical, psychological, moral and economic security.
He added that a platform to weed out fraudulent webshops would be set up in the first half of 2026.
He said the action plan also included targeted probes of dietary supplements and real estate agents.
