Retail Sales in Hungary Rise Slightly

Retail sales also rose 2.5pc when adjusted for calendar year effects.
Adjusted food sales increased 2.6pc, non-food sales climbed 4.6pc and vehicle fuel sales edged up 0.7pc.
Online and mail-order sales volume, which accounted for 11pc of retail turnover, rose 12pc.
In a month-on-month comparison, retail sales inched up 0.1pc, adjusted for seasonal and calendar year effects.
In absolute terms, retail sales came to HUF 1,747bn in November. Food sales accounted for 47pc of the total, non-food sales for 39pc and sales at petrol stations for 14pc.
For the period January-November, retail sales rose an adjusted 2.8pc and an unadjusted 2.6pc from the same period a year earlier. Food sales increased an adjusted 2.6pc, non-food sales 4.4pc and motor fuel sales 0.7pc.
