- 15 Apr 2013 12:00 PM

In 2012 I finished the College, in Italy, with a Master in Political Sciences, focusing my studies on Central-Eastern Europe.
During my childhood I had the chance to travel quite a lot around the world, thanks also to my roots (my mother is half Argentinian).
After my graduation I started to look for a job everywhere in Europe and the destination, for coincidences, was Budapest, one of my favourite cities in Europe! Mr. Alessandro Farina, an Italian businessman, living in Hungary since 20 years, offered me a training period at his company ITL Group Kft.. Here I am responsible, together with a brilliant and mixed team (Italians and Hungarians), for the Marketing and Communication Division and right now I am working on our next event: the Budapest Business Party that will take place the 31st of May, 2013.
It is our 2nd edition; last year it was a success and a big opportunity for fun and networking for expats and Hungarian manager. I am sure that this year the party will be even bigger so be prepared!
In the free time I like to play football, travel around Hungary and learn more about its culture, people and language. Moreover I study Hungarian and I teach Italian.
1. When did you arrive in Hungary and what brought you here?
My Bachelor's thesis was on Hungary and its history between 1945-1956; then the Italian Diplomatic Institute selected me for an Internship at
the Italian Institute of Culture in Budapest. It was spring time and it was love at first sight with Budapest.
At the begininng of 2013 I came back again to Hungary. It was just few months ago, but time runs!
2. Have you ever been an expatriate elsewhere?
Yes, thanks to the Erasmus Programme I studied in Kiel, Germany for a semester.
3. What surprised you most about Hungary?
To be honest, I was impressed by the public transportation system and its capillarity in Budapest.
Moreover I discovered new towns and places in Hungary that I had honestly never heard before.
It was exciting to visit them and learn their stories (learning town's names was a bit more difficult!).
4. Friends are in Budapest for a weekend - what must they absolutely see and do?
For sure thermal baths, but then I would recommend something alternative: a walk in Normafa and the view on the city from Janos Hegy, a pic-nic in Kopaszi Gat and last but not least a huge portion of Hekk in Romai Part. Just love it!
5. What is your favourite Hungarian food?
I tried it just once but I have to say that Hortobágyi Palacsinta was really tasty. Also Madár Tej was an incredible discover!
6. What is never missing from your refrigerator?
Italian cheese (parmesan and grana), fruits, vegetables and milk
7. What is your favourite Hungarian word?
It was challenging but funny to learn them: gyógyszertár and gyönyörű.. Two words with sounds and letters completely different from my mother tongue.
8. What do you miss the most from home?
Well, easy, I have to be honest: food, sun, beaches, Alps and a shorter winter!
9. What career other than yours would you love to pursue?
At the beginning of the college I wanted to work in an international organization or an Italian Institution abroad. Who knows what will bring the future.
10. What's a job you would definitely never want?
There are no specific categories, but a job that overfills also your weekend is devastating! Free time is really important to keep your mind free from troubles.
11. Where did you spend your last vacation?
In the Alps, in Alto Adige/South-Tirol, an Italian bilingual (Italian-German) region in northern Italy. Lovely and charming place.
12. Where do you hope to spend your next one?
I hope in Turkey, Istanbul, I have a good friend there, I would like to visit him.
13. What was your favourite band, film, or hobby as a teen?
I didn't have a favourite band, never. My favourite movie is for sure "Forrest Gump" with Tom Hanks, Hobby... I have to say that football has been always a big passion, especially my favourite team: Udinese Calcio 1896. Sometimes I have been to the stadium also here in Budapest.
14. Apart of temptation what can't you resist?
Pasta, a good glass of red wine from my region (Friuli Venezia Giulia) and sport.
15. Red wine or white?
Red for winter, white for summer
16. Book or movie?
Both generally, rarely movies based on books
17. Morning person or night person?
Morning person during the week, night person during the weekend :)
18. Which social issue do you feel most strongly about?
The protection of the enviroment. Still there is a lack of education, also among young people, about this issue.
19. Buda side or Pest side?
Buda for long and relaxing walks and cakes, Pest for the everyday downtown's life.
20. What would you say is your personal motto?
Never give up and never lose your time with people that do not deserve it.
