The results of the 2025 Cake of Balaton contest have been revealed, with the top prize going to "Hableány" "Mermaid", a creation from Promenád Kávéház in Balatongyörök on the northern shore. Both its flavor and the story behind it impressed the judges.

The 12th Chimney Cake Festival will be held at the Budapest Zoo & Botanical Garden, offering expats a sweet attraction filled with local tradition, live music and a variety of tastes to try. Known in Hungarian as Kürtőskalács, the beloved Chimney Cake is a local favourite made from spiral dough baked over charcoal, coated in sugar, and often rolled in toppings like cinnamon, walnut, and coconut.
