Fruit Harvest Promises Favourable Pálinka Season in Hungary this Year
This year's fruit harvest promises a good pálinka season, with the professionals expecting a more favorable year; after last year's decline, this year's volume is expected to exceed 600,000 hectoliters.

According to agroinform.hu, the crop of the most popular brandy fruit, apricots, was produced in much larger quantities than in previous years, and the harvest prospects for other fruits are also favorable.

Since introducing the public health product tax in 2019, the commercial turnover of pálinka has practically halved.

Before 2019, the amount produced exceeded one million hectoliters; the volume was 581,000 hectoliters last year.
