The US minority rights movement, which has had some notable successes over the past 50 years, also faces continuing problems, including police violence. We believe that a sharing of their struggles would be worthwhile as everyone searches for effective remedies.

Until I came to this sensational exhibition at the Ludwig Museum I didn’t know I liked Pop Art. Basically I only knew Warhol’s Campbell Soup and Lichtenstein’s comic strips which are here as well, but I was unprepared for the arresting impact of this huge collection of art works whose artistic quality, it seems to me, outweighs what they call in marketing meetings here the “Vow Effect”.

Leading commentators throughout the media still concentrate their wits on the migrant issue. Hungarians rarely shows such an intense interest in public affairs as they do towards migration at present.

Former Hungarian Communist Party Official Biszku Pleads Innocent In New Trial

Béla Biszku, the interior minister in 1956, pleaded innocent to charges of war crimes when a new trial began on Friday. Biszku is accused of abetting the shooting of protesters by state security officials at Nyugati tér and in Salgótarján in December 1956, as well as failing to investigate a raid in 1957 and denying Communist crimes.
