Britannica International School has appointed Richard Vaughan as the new Principal of Britannica International School to succeed Mr Ken Baines who will retire at the end of next month, July 2014. Mr Vaughan will move to Budapest with his wife and two children this Summer.

Painter Judit Reigl was born in 1923 in Kapuvár, and has been living and working in France since 1950. She is one of the rare artists of Hungarian origins who is recognised in the United States, and whose oeuvre uniquely combines the traditions of European and American abstraction.

In the late 1930s, Europe teetered on the verge of what would soon become The 1939-1945 War, or to Americans, the Second World War. Out in Hungary, one newspaper editor was frustrated. He wasted far too much time filling up fountain pens and cleaning up smudged pages. He was annoyed that the sharp tip of his fountain pen often tore the paper.
