Summer Festivals Receive Nearly HUF 500m From State

Hungary’s summer festivals are receiving a total of nearly 500 million forints (EUR 1.6m) state support this year, an official of the Ministry of Human Resources said. State secretary Bence Rétvári told a press conference that the Sziget Festival in Budapest, the Volt Festival in Sopron in western Hungary and the Balaton Sound festival are getting a combined 150 million forints (EUR 476,000).

Reporting on the open-air Gourmet Festival held in Budapest’s Millenáris Park on the website of one of Ireland’s oldest and most-read newspapers, Fionn Davenport says that you can “eat well in the Hungarian capital no matter what time of year you visit”.
