Hungary also has a long tradition of chasing away winter and ushering in spring, and there are many customs and beliefs associated with this tradition. The Busójárás (“Busó-walking”) of Mohács is one of the most important and most well-known such customs, and is included on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The Hungarian string band tradition and Lipizzan horse breeding traditions are among new inscriptions on the UNESCO List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, the Directorate of Intangible Cultural Heritage at the Skanzen Open Air Museum in Szentendre said.

According to local legend, 'devils' still come on boats from the Island of Mohács. After arriving they proceed to Kóló Square , and then all parade through the streets, mixing with the audience along the way.
