Elderly Hungarians living in North America were surprised to find that along with a letter from Viktor Orbán, prime minister of Hungary, they also received a 9,000 forints (USD 30) Hungarian utility voucher. A group of them is now collecting the election gift and sending it to Hungary for the truly needy.

Comedy-drama Bad Poems fetched the audience prize at the week-long 19th Hungarian Film Festival of Los Angeles which showed feature and television films, as well as documentaries, shorts and animation films for children, the National Film Fund said.

You may normally associate truffles with Italy & France, but truffle hunting happens in Hungary too! Such a pleasant surprise it was for me to learn the wonderful countryside of Hungary is actually a powerhouse for truffles, and as close as the forested outskirts of Budapest there’s an abundance of one of the most expensive foodstuffs on the planet.
