Erste Bank Hungary on Monday announced the establishment of its own mortgage bank. The company charter has been signed, but the unit still requires the approval of the National Bank of Hungary (NBH). The NBH requires lenders to back at least 15% of their net mortgage loans with long-term liabilities from October 1, 2016, which probably explains Erste Bank Hungary’s motivation.

Rossmann Magyarország Revenue Reaches HUF 52 bln

The Hungarian unit of German health and beauty products retailer Rossmann saw a rise of 10% in its revenue last year, reaching HUF 52 bln, Rossmann Magyarország told Hungarian news agency MTI. After-tax profit reportedly grew by 50%, reaching HUF 2.3 bln, and the company expects earnings growth to be in the double digits this year, too, MTI said.

The cabinet is paying Ft 480 million to consultancy company PwC for the feasibility study for a 2024 Budapest Olympiad, Népszabadság reports. The commission is officially for reworking the feasibility study written in 2002 with a view to hosting the 2012 Olympics, therefore there was no bidding process for the work.
