The Életmentő app (which literally means “life-saving” in Hungarian) was developed by the Hungarian National Ambulance Service together with Vodafone Hungary. It lets you request help from emergency services directly through your phone, and sends them your real-time location. No need to know the nearest cross street. No need to panic about explaining “we’re just past the bend with the plum tree.”

The state has provided more than 100,000,000 forints (EUR 309,000) to the central Hungarian town of Jászfényszaru so that its 2,200 households and local public institutions have access to a new internet network that operates at speeds of up to 250 Mbps.
