Szombathely, in western Hungary, will once again turn back the clock this summer as it hosts the 24th Savaria Historical Carnival from 21 to 24 August. The four-day event will see the city’s streets filled with Roman legions, medieval merchants, baroque nobles, and a host of other historical figures from across the centuries.

Despite financial difficulties, this year's XXIV Savaria Historical Carnival in Szombathely will last four days, and will be held between August 21-24, the city's deputy mayor, who is also responsible for culture announced.
