This annual Christmas initiative by a local expat church brings together good folks from the international community to add a bit of magic to the lives of children living in 'deprived areas of Budapest'. The Magic Lamp (Csodalámpa) Foundation, which has been granting wishes for kids with life-threatening illnesses for the past 14 years, is organizing a charity dinner use gala or nothing on November 27th at 18.30 at the Hilton Budapest (1014 Budapest, Hess András square 3. Castle District) with the help of its friends and supporters, among them Danubius Hotels and its charity ambassadors.
Sausage Festival In Budapest, 13 - 15 October

This annual festival featuring 250 types of spiced up meat will be held at the Hungarian Railway Museum this year. As well as lots of porky specials available along several 'Sausage Streets', there will be family programs, folklore shows, 'nostalgic music programs' and dance, plus apparently presentations of enormous sausages, during this three day special Hungarian gastro event.

These sweet delights will be the main attraction of this traditional event in the heart of Budapest. Go to taste various types and sizes of this special kind of 'smoky, crunchy cake' which will be presented in a variety of flavours and with creative toppings. An Afghan-Iranian family with three children waited eight months at the Serbian-Hungarian border to be able to apply for refugee status. After the long wait, in April 2017 they were admitted to the so-called ’transit zone’ where they were practically locked up behind barbed wire for four months.
