Online video streamer Netflix launched its service in Hungary and 129 other countries simultaneously as of January 6, co-founder and CEO Reed Hastings announced at the annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Netflix was present in 60 countries prior to this expansion.

Their latest album titled Disquit which is the continuation of their 1994 release Troublegum is going to be presented in a truly kicking club ambient on the ship this time.

It has become a tradition for the "Hundred Member" Gipsy Orchestra to give a gala concert on December the 30th in Budapest Congress Centre. The audience will get the chance to hear the pieces of Liszt, Brahms, Strauss and Khachaturian in the interpretation of outstanding musicians.

Popular Hungarian Bandleader Benkó Dies

Clarinet player Sándor Benkó, founder of the popular Benkó Dixieland Band, died on Tuesday at the age of 75, his family announced. Benkó started the group while a high school student in 1957. Its first album was certified a gold disc. The band toured the world, took part in many music festivals and received numerous awards. The band has no fewer than 1,800 professional recordings.

An exhibition presenting the life and work of Hungarian doctor and physician Ignaz Semmelweis (1818- 1865) and architect Flóris Rómer (1815- 1889) has opened in the headquarters of UNESCO. The exhibition pays tribute to the two Hungarian personalities, marking the 150th death anniversary of Semmelweis and the 200th birth anniversary of Rómer.
