Jewish Cultural Festival In Budapest Approaching

Budapest’s annual Jewish Cultural Festival will begin on Sunday and run for a week with concerts, theatre performances and film screenings. The biggest concerts will be held at the Great synagogue on Dohány utca, while theatre productions, concerts and film screenings will take place at the Goldmark Hall and the Rumbach utca synagogue.

Major Lazer is an electronic music group created by record producer Diplo, with current members Jillionaire and Walshy Fire. Initially the English DJ and producer Switch was part of the group. A capacity crowd estimated at 75,000 people sang along with British pop star Robbie Williams at the Sziget Festival on Monday night. Williams reportedly threatened to cancel the show when he saw cameras of RTL Klub television when he arrived in Budapest on his private plane on Sunday. The singer had specified that no pictures of him be taken.
