A large-scale bronze equestrian statue of Gyula Andrássy, Austro-Hungarian foreign minister in the 1870s, was erected on Kossuth tér on Tuesday. The 6.5-metre high statue located on the south side of the Parliament building is the last work of art required to recreate the look of the square as it was in 1944.

In addition to large areas in central Budapest, the decision will affect the towns of Sátoraljaújhely, Szerencs, Sárospatak and Tokaj in the Tokaj historical wine region in northeastern Hungary.
