It has been 55 years since the first concert was given in the grounds of Martonvásár Manor House, the former residence of the Brunszvik family, under age-old lime trees only 32 km from Budapest. Besides the National Philharmonic these concerts feature excellent artists from Hungary and abroad.
Hungarian Gov Responds To Objections Of European Commission

On 7 June at noon the Hungarian Government handed over a letter to the European Commission, in which it responded to the three questions raised by the EU body concerning the possibility to impose extraordinary taxes, the transfer of court cases and the restrictions on political advertisements – Foreign Minister János Martonyi announced on 7th June 2013.
Hungarian Gov’t Rolling Out New Ad Campaign

The government will spend Ft 500 million on an advertising campaign to promote its achievements, starting this week, spokesman András Giró-Szász told reporters on Monday. The campaign of leaflets, billboards and other outdoor media will proclaim the message that “Hungary is Doing Better”.

The celebrations will begin on August 19 when the 'Street of Hungarian Flavours' will open at noon between the Buda side of the Erzsébet híd and Bem tér. Awards will be presented for Hungary’s best cake, sugar-free cake and ice cream. Pop music will play on Clark Ádám tér and on Bem tér from 8pm. Formal events start on Kossuth tér at 8.30 a.m. on August 20. The national flag will be hoisted with ...
Sziget Festival Budapest Opens Its Gates

The Sziget festival celebrated the Day of Hungarian Song on Óbuda’s Hajógyár island on Sunday, with nearly 80 groups and solo acts performing 150 songs from noon until 11 p.m. Week-long campers began arriving before the festival proper starts on Wednesday, running until next Sunday.
