There have been no discussions on the construction of a Turkish-funded new mosque in Budapest between the Hungarian and Turkish governments, the Prime Minister’s Office has disclosed. However, Gül Babah’s Turbeh, a 16th-century Muslim shrine in Budapest that is a popular tourist attraction, will be restored with Turkish support under a recent state agreement, it has been revealed.

President István Gaskó of the LIGA union alliance has stayed in the Kempinski and Hilton hotels in Budapest at EU expense, even though he is a resident of the city, Napi Gazdaság reports. On September 27, 2012 he hired room 601 at the Kempinski Hotel Corvinus and spent Ft 140,000 for the night. On February 2, 2014 he spent more than Ft 150,000 for a room at the Budapest Hilton.

The Hungarian government will contribute 200 million forints (EUR 650,000) to the refurbishment of the German Theatre in Szekszárd, in southern Hungary. Swiss firm Stadler has supplied the last two commuter trains to state railway company MÁV and Austrian-Hungarian railways Gysev Cargo, reports Világgazdaság. MÁV signed a contract with Stadler in March, 2013 for the purchase of 42 Flirt commuter trains for €267 million, mostly funded by the EU. Stadler will supply six trains to Gysev in a related deal.
